Employee Support Line
The Helpline provides a triage level of mental health care. Triage care is best understood as licensed mental health professionals who are capable of interacting with individuals in most states of mind (stable, distressed, in crisis, etc.) to aid them in finding stability in the moment, assist them in developing a support plan, and connecting them with local mental health professionals.
The Helpline in its current iteration provides support to over 225,000 labor professionals and their family members (a conservative estimate would be 750,000 individuals who are capable of calling for mental health support 24/7/365).
The majority of calls are one time callers who are aware of their mental health situation and are asking for referrals to local mental health professionals (therapist, counselors, clinical social workers, etc.). Other types of calls might resemble regular calls from individuals to discuss or process events of the day; these types of calls are responded to with respect and are all focused on providing consistent support for the caller to engage with an appropriate level of mental health support with local professionals. In the event that a caller does not want to engage with mental health support locally, callers are continually engaged with in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
Manager & Workplace Trainings
In-person and online mental health trainings are a core component of supporting out contracted organizations. Mental health trainings are generally focused around the topics of general mental health, substance use disorder, recovery practices (related to SUD), self-care, and self-care; in the event that an organization has a request for a specific type/topic of training (emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, etc.) trainings can be specifically created for the organization's need.
Mental health trainings, whether in-person or online, are not an open-and-shut event. Attendees are encouraged to stay in contact with their Helpline representatives to further engage with the material presented.
